Humour and compassion are also huge parts of the culture at the Charlottetown donor centre. These qualities help employees relate to the donors, whether they are celebrating good news or going through hardship.
“We adjust our approach to help each donor have the best experience while donating — to get them to laugh and share a smile,” says Jacob.
“When you walk into our donor centre, you hear laughter,” he adds. “We have donors who say, ‘Let me know if you are hiring, because I love the environment here.’”
