This summer, I went to a street festival in Toronto — The Taste of the Danforth — with three of my friends. It was a nice day with good food and music abound: we were enjoying the gift of life.
I noticed a Canadian Blood Services ad to donate blood, and it dawned on me how many Canadians weren't able to make it to the festival because of their health concerns. My friends and I wanted to help them — we didn't want to be bystanders who saw somebody in need and did nothing. We looked left and right at the other festival-goers and realized that we were going to need to be the ones to stand up and do our public duty. That day, we decided to start giving blood together.
Since then, we've made our first donations and joined Canada's Lifeline. We are proud to share our health with the Canadians who need it most.
Why we share our health with the Canadians who need it
