I have polycystic kidney disease and I went to the hospital for my quarterly blood work in 2020 and my hemoglobin came back at 63, for a guy my age it's supposed to be 120 or so. I was very lethargic but just thought it was part of " the disease " and went to work every day all along I was peeing out more blood than my body was making. From the time they admitted me in hospital through my first year of dialysis I've received 16 blood transfusions, and my hemoglobin is at 123 and holding...thanks to those who donate blood, for those who don't, hopefully this is food for thought as you start your weekend.
