A little bit of your time, can be someone’s lifetime

When I was a baby, I was the recipient of blood due to a surgery, and then an emergency surgery due to a complication shortly thereafter. I was an infant! I often think, “how frightening for a mother to have to witness”.
It’s because of blood donation, that I survived to tell the tale.

It’s amazing to think there are people out there, who were my own personal superheroes! That without them, there would be no ‘’me”. Never will I know who they were, nor do they know that my chance at life was all thanks to them!… What a wonderful, complex, yet so simple gesture.

I am so thankful for Canada’s Lifeline. It’s why I donate and share my story. I hope that this makes others consider donating to a wonderful cause that saves lives.
To those who currently donate, you are giving people a chance at life! You are saving a mother from grief, you are keeping families whole… you truly are offering a priceless gift, so thank you!

A gesture that takes a little bit of your time, can give an entire lifetime to someone else.

Plasma and blood are required for many diseases and ailments.
So stop saying you’re afraid of needles and go be someone’s secret superhero.
