I received a blood transfusion after hemorrhaging post-delivery of my son. I could have died had I not received that transfusion. I can't describe how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to be a part of my son's life. We have such a special bond and I have never loved anything more than being his mom. A year later, and I still can't hear the radio ads for Canadian Blood Services without crying! I want people to remember that by donating blood you're not only saving the recipients, but their children, partners, siblings, parents, friends, etc. as well. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single blood donor for giving people like me a fighting chance.
