It's easy to save human lives.
The focus of the celebration of World Blood Donor Day this year is on the slogan “Donate blood is a gesture of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives,” and aims to thank blood donors in the world and work to raise awareness more widely about the need to donate blood regularly without remuneration; highlighting the need for a year-round commitment to donate blood to maintain adequate supplies and timely access to safe blood transfusions for all; recognizing and promoting the value of voluntary free blood donation in strengthening community solidarity and social cohesion; raising awareness of the need for increased investment by governments to build a sustainable and resilient national blood supply system; and increasing the collection of blood donations from free blood donors.
