When I was 10 years old, I was diagnosed with leukemia. The nature of the cancer and the drugs used to fight the cancer caused me to be very tired and have low abilities to clot blood if injured. Blood transfusions gave me the energy and ability to enjoy everyday activities, while undergoing treatment.
