SaskPower has been involved in the blood system for more than a decade, a Partners for Life member since 2008 and a committed champion for patients in need.

Four times a year, employees take the Life Bus during work hours to donate blood. This is part of a friendly Crown challenge donation competition between SaskPower, SaskEnergy and SGI. For three consecutive years, SaskPower has led the challenge. In 2013 alone, the organization collected 288 donations, well above its goal of 250. Every year, SaskPower increases its goal.

The team at SaskPower has been known to assist Canadian Blood Services when challenging situations arise. When a clinic sponsor was not able to deliver food for a blood donor clinic, SaskPower’s cafeteria supplied chili and buns to donors – at no charge – for two days. The organization also regularly sponsors a two-day clinic every year.
