Manal Assaf

Representing Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and The Northwest Territories

Manal is driven to help people, inspire youth, and make a difference. She organized her first blood donation event for her 20th birthday in February 2017, and has continued to support community donation events ever since. Through her faith, Manal believes it is important to give back, and this belief guides her to recruit blood donors from Edmonton’s Muslim community. By networking at her University of Alberta campus, and through her notable social media following, Manal reaches out to many existing and potential donors. She often adopts donation events in an effort to fill appointments. As a result of her recruitment efforts, these events meet or exceed blood donation goals. Manal graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences this spring.
