Karli Schon

Volunteer

Manitoba, North Eastern Ontario, and Nunavut

For almost a decade, Karli has embodied the spirit of young volunteerism.

Karli began her time with Canadian Blood Services as a Youth Development Champion, spending two years in the role while she was a high school student. When she graduated, she continued her volunteering at the University of Winnipeg as a member of the Youth Council. There, she recruited donors, participating in special events and information booths to spread the word about blood donation. Karli also trained as an assistant volunteer for the What’s Your Type? program, and acted as a guest speaker at a Young Blood for Life training session – both initiatives dedicated to bringing more blood donors on board.

Despite life’s many transitions, Karli has continued her volunteering with Canadian Blood Services as she ventured from university into the working world. Today, she is a hospitality volunteer for a number of clinics. Enthusiastic, engaging and positive, Karli has accumulated more than 500 hours of time with the blood system – and can always be relied on to do a stellar job.
