Surrey, B.C.
"If it excites and scares you at the same time, it probably means you should do it." Karanvir’s favourite quote could very well apply to recruiting blood donors — which can be exciting, but also intimidating when dealing with new people!
Karanvir is the co-founder and president of Lifestream BC, a non-profit organization run completely by university and high school students, with an aim to raise awareness and funds for childhood diseases.
One such way to help these children is through blood donor recruitment. Passionate about giving young people an opportunity to give selflessly, Karanvir and his team of volunteers have supported multiple blood donation recruitment events in locations across the Greater Vancouver area. A true leader with a calm and happy spirit, Karanvir easily engages with and trains his volunteers to be enthusiastic recruiters.
“Canadian Blood Services takes amazing care of its volunteers. Whether it is providing reference letters or adequate supplies to recruit, they are always willing to help in the best way possible,” he says.
An incredibly involved young man, Karanvir not only leads Lifestream BC but has been a summer student with Canadian Blood Services and BC Children’s Hospital. His organization has also raised funds for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
