Bruce’s blood donation journey is deeply rooted in his family’s history: his father, who began giving blood in WWII, had a strong influence on Bruce becoming a donor himself. To date, Bruce has made more than 211 donations, including plasma.
A newly retired firefighter and natural leader, Bruce is also a dedicated advocate for the blood system and patients in need. As a captain, he faithfully championed the Partners for Life program at the Burlington Fire Department for several years, engaging colleagues and coordinating group donations. As a result of his commitment, Bruce successfully helped the fire department exceed its donation pledge year over year.
Bruce also volunteers and actively recruits donors through the local Burlington blood donor clinic.
